This is a temporary, part-time position from October 2019 to April 2020. The Reading Interventionist will be required to work 3 to 4 days per week, including some Saturdays, for up to 16 hours per week. Work hours are flexible, although 1:00 to 4:00pm is preferred. Compensation for this position will range from $45 to $60 per hour depending on experience.
Help students develop and achieve learning goals, adjusting based on progress monitoring
Review student achievement data to identify instructional strategies and place students in appropriate reading and writing intervention and support services
Collaborate with classroom teachers to identify reading needs of students, develop Tier 1 intervention strategies, monitor progress, and support instruction
Prepare focused reading intervention based on learning goals and targets, and deliver targeted literacy intervention to small groups of 4 to 10 students using research-based strategies and resources
Conduct and analyze F&P assessments, utilize progress monitoring, and conduct diagnostic assessments to ensure intervention programming is targeted and effective
Develop positive professional relationships with students and school staff, and communicate students’ progress to their parents
Complete other tasks as assigned by the Principal and the Managing Director of Middle Schools
Background in F&P Testing
Experience monitoring student progress and analyzing assessments
Experience developing intervention strategies and leading Guided Reading Groups
Exceptional ability to build relationships and collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators
Effective communication skills
Experience working with middle school aged students
Strong sense of personal accountability for student success
Unshakeable belief that all students can learn at a high level and should be held to high academic standards
Excellent organizational and time management skills, and tremendous attention to detail
