Responsibilities
- Support Montessori practices and lesson plans centered around students’ developing social, intellectual, and emotional skills
- Promote student independence, intellectual curiosity and intrinsic motivation
- Establish and uphold classroom routines to ensure a focused, safe and caring environment
- Get to know each child extremely well to identify individual student interests and needs
- Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and ensure student mastery of standards
Qualifications
- Assistant Teacher Certification required (must be certified within 3 months of employment); Assistant Teachers only
- Bachelor's degree or higher; Lead Teachers only
- At least two years of teaching experience in Pre-K is preferred
- Experience teaching in a Montessori school, preferably in an urban setting
- Passion for building a strong relationship with each individual child
- Demonstrated ability to create a positive, organized, student centered classroom culture
- A strong sense of personal accountability for student achievement
- Unshakeable conviction that all students can learn at a high level
Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $86,000, and is commensurate with experience and qualifications. Final salary may be adjusted based on experience and qualifications. HVA is committed to providing our team with a range of benefit offerings at a competitive value.
